Anjuman e Waris e Mohammedi

The Anjuman e Waris e Mohammedi  is a very special organization in many different ways.

Firstly, no one gets paid for the work that they do for the organization. Team Anjuman e waris e Mohammedi works to serve the community solely for the pleasure of Allah SWT and most of them also contribute towards the activities themselves. May Allah SWT grant all the volunteers sincerity and faith. Ameen. Having an Islamic Organisation based on this principle is important. The focus is not money but service to Allah… and the limited resources are used carefully.

Secondly, all the activities that the Anjuman e Waris e Mohammedi started off were activities that were not taking place in our community at that time. However, they were not completely new activities either but they were revival of activities that used to take place. In short, we are not wasting precious resources by duplicating activities that others have made a success off.

Thirdly, the Anjuman e Waris e Mohammedi was not started off by just any ordinary Muslim but it was started off by a grand Sufi Master with strong ties to Durban’s Hazrath Soofie Saib RA.

Fourthly, Team Anjuman e waris e Mohammedi is passionate and strives towards excellence. Consider what it takes to decorate 3km of Durban’s busy roads. Also consider the impact of ten thousand Muslims marching in the 2030 KZN Juloos Meelad un Nabi. Insha-Allah. This is one of our goals, to double the number of people taking part in this event by 2030.

Fifthly, Anjuman e Waris e Mohammedi strives towards building a united community (ummah) on many different levels. On an individual level, there are more that a hundred volunteers that work together to accomplish the activities for the year. Some work for just a few days while others for many days in the year.

Then we have many families working together and we encourage people to communicate with their family members – get them involved, discuss at article a week on the family chat group, take a share in the KZN Juloos Meelad un Nabi. Adopt this event As a family so that you can build closer bonds with your family. Insha-Allah

Lastly, we are currently working with a whole host of other organisations. We want the KZN Juloos Meelad un Nabi to belong to the Muslim community  and not just to Anjuman e Waris e Mohammedi.

You too can be a part of our growing team. Don’t delay, contact us today.

The Anjuman e Waris e Mohammedi has three main activities:

1. The KZN Juloos Meelad un Nabi.

2. The AWM Brigade

3. The Rabbiul Awwal Special

1.

The KZN Juloos Meelad un Nabi

Started of in 1989. The first Juloos was a very humble event with no meals, no marquee, no PA system, no chairs. We only served home prepared juice as refreshments. Since then, improvements has been made each year and today it is one of the largest annual Islamic Events in KZN with ample food, sweet, hampers and cool drinks.

It has inspired other such events in other parts of our country and the world.

At present, three kilometres of Durban’s busy roads are decorated for this event. The program at the end is centred around children, they take the stage and with their innocent beings, they awaken the spirits of the listeners. Truly awesome feeling.

We also have two videos for you to get a feel of KZN Juloos Meelad. The KZN Juloos Meelad un Nabi takes place on the first Sunday after the 12th of Rabbiual Awwal, Insh-Allah, and it starts off at 10am from the Glenearn Road Soofie Mosque in Overport. Please bring the children around.

2.

The AWM Muslim brigade.

Think of it as a tool to enhance Islamic gatherings and in this way, promote, highlight, showcase Islam in our broader community. Just like a national flag and a national anthem, the brigade is a means of creating a sense of community, belonging, unity and togetherness. When the brigade marches it arouses feelings of awe in the onlookers.

A Muslim Brigade use to exist in the Durban Muslim community in 1900s up until 1975. The Anjuman e Waris e Mohammedi revived this activity in 1990 and it is slowly regaining it’s popularity and position in our society.

The Brigade is about discipline, coordination, and working together as a team. These are important social skills for our youth to learn. Most importantly it’s about building bonds of friendship with others.

Join the brigade with you son or brother and create an opportunity to interact with them and others meaningfully and positively. It’s about ten to thirty meetings a year depending on what you play. Contact members below to join.
