The Super Power

The Super Power – A comparative article on the different powers that humanity can achieve.

With the name of Allah, most Beneficient, ever Merciful.

How powerful humanity has become. We have used our knowledge to build machines that can transport tons through the air, we have developed machines that can generate electricity to power up entire cities, we have built little chips that can hold gigabytes of memory and the list of our achievements in the scientific field is indeed long.

Have we reached the ultimate in power with our scientific achievements? Is this the super power of humanity, or is there some greater power that we could achieve?

Apart from scientific power, humanity in the past learnt about and used the power of magic and sorcery. “…but satan disbelieved, teaching men magic and such things as came down at Babylon to the angels Harut and Marut.”

When Hazrath Moosa (AS) threw his rod on the ground, it turned into a serpent by Allah’s leave. Pherone gathered his best magicians together and they all had the power to throw rods that turned into serpents.

Although their magic was no comparison to Hazrath Moosa (AS) gift from Allah Subhanatallah, it was still a powerful thing to do.

During this period, studying the zodiac signs to foretell the future was the in thing. The foretellers of Pherone were so powerful in this field that they not only predicted the birth of Hazrath Moosa (AS) but they even knew the night that he was to be conceived.

They forewarned Pherone about it and they hatched a plan to prevent Hazrath Moosa (AS) from being conceived. They gathered all the Jewish men and forced them to spend the night in a field.

When Pherone was tired, he went home with his trusted Jewish slave Imraan who was his guard. When Pherone fell asleep, the wife of Imraan came to him and the child was conceived.

We can plan, but Allah is the best of planners. As soon as this happened, the foretellers that were with the rest of the Jewish men saw the sign in the sky, and they began to cry and lament.

Wow, Seeing exactly when someone is born by using the stars – Is this not amazing? Is this not powerful? Wow.

Our Pir O Murshid, Hazrath Poona Wale Shah Saib (RA) related the following true story of how a teacher and his student gained vast knowledge and with their knowledge they were able to perform miraculous deeds such as flying in the sky without machinery etc.

This is how they gained their knowledge. When the teacher reached old age, he and his student would search for a fresh corpse of a child. They would exhume the body and the old teacher would lie next to the corpse of the child.

The student continuously reads a mantra and the soul of the teacher is transferred from the old body into the corpse of the child. The child comes to life and the old teacher dies. The student then treats the child for his illnesses and brings him back to health.

He takes care of the child and the child (his ex teacher) now becomes his student and he becomes the master. Whatever he learns he teaches to the child and in successive lives they gain vast knowledge.

Our murshid then narrated the story of Hazrath Sulaimaan (AS) and how he captured the throne of Bilkis which was about 125km away. When he asked his assembly about bringing the throne of Bilkis, I Quote “A jin said: “I will bring it (the throne) to you before you could rise from this council…. Then said one (an Amil): I will bring it to you before you could blink” Al Quraan 27:39.

An amil, like the “nou naat”, is a person that gains his power in a similar manner by reading certain parts of the Holy Scriptures continuously. Such people can also make up amulets (taweez) which are used to ward off evil or cure illnesses.

The power of magic and foretelling was made unpredictable during the lifetime of the Prophet (SAW). The power of Jinns and the power of Amils are intact and people can still use them.

Although these powers, including technology, are such great human feats, our Pir O Murshid RA said that all of these powers are third class when compared to the power of the human soul and Love in particular.

When Hazrath Fuzail Ibn Ayaaz (RA), a bandit, became a true mureed his Pir O Murshid asked him to return all the things he stole and asked him to ask all the people he robbed for forgiveness.

He did just this, but one Jew refused to forgive him unless he took out a bag of gold from under his rug. Hazrath Fuzail ibn Ayaaz (RA) put his hand under the rug and pulled out a bag of gold.

The Jew knew that there was no gold there but had only done this to mock him. Such is the will power of a true lover that it can turn dust into gold.

They cannot just make the dead come to life, but they can also make the living to be out of clay. (miracles of Hazrath Essa (AS) as recorded in the Holy Quraan).

Once the Prophet Salallahu Alayhe wasallam split the moon into two by using his finger and this extraordinary event is reported by many different companions and it is also recorded in the Holy Quraan: “…and the moon was cleft asunder” Sura Al Qumar 54:1.

Water used to flow from between his fingers which used to satisfy an entire army and stones began to speak by his command. Islamic history is full of many such recordings of miracles.

The Prophets and the Aulia Allah have such vision that the world is like a mustard seed in the palm of their hand and they can see well into the future. Everything in the universe, by Allah’s leave, becomes subservient to the will power of a true lover.

The key to the will power of the soul is Devine Love. “Jazba payda hota he ishk hone ke baad. “(Determination or will power is born when a person falls in love.)

The love that we talk about here is not worldly love, but love for Allah Subhanatallah.

If we cannot see Allah Subhanatallah, then how are we to grow to love Him?

The only way to grow to love Allah Subhanatallah is to love His special servants that we can meet at present such as the Saints.

We the people of today think that we are advanced because we live in such a technologically advanced era, but when one considers a huge throne being moved hundreds of kilometers in the blink of an eye or a bag of gold materializing from dust or people flying in the sky without machinery, or the splitting of the moon by the Prophet Sallallahu Alayhe Wasallam pointing his finger, then we have not advanced, but have instead retrogressed.

Our spirits have amazing power but we today simply do not strive to develop it.

Apart from experiencing the power of the soul, by not developing our souls we are jeopardizing our life after death which is a spiritual one.

The bonus– loving and developing the soul is such an extraordinary experience, so much so that people that have these experiences would not hesitate to give away the whole universe for such an experience.

Striving to love the people of Allah so that you can have this power will not work because love is such that it does not seek profit.

A lover does not care about power, jannath or whatever else: all he cares about is “that smile” of the beloved. How ironic: This power is given to one who does not want it or does not care for it.

“How can reason wend the way of despair? It’s love that runs on its head in that direction. Love is reckless, not reason.

Reason seeks that form from which it may get some profit…..but devotion (love) consists of giving without cause: gambling oneself clean away is outside (transcends) of every religion. For as much as religion seeks (Divine) Grace or salvation those who gamble (everything) clean away (lovers) are (God’s) chosen favorites. Neither do they put God to any test, nor do they knock at the door of any profit or loss.” Marawi vol.6:1965.

O! How perfectly wise Allah Subhanatallah is. This Supreme Power of “Be and it is” that He gives to His Messengers and Aulia Allah is so well guarded by love. END

Peace and Salutations be upon Muhammad Salallahu Alayhe Wasallam.
