The Keys To Islam’s Success

Love – the keys to Islam’s success

With the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Ever Merciful,

The success of Islam is not due to military might or by the beautiful teachings that are recorded in the Holy Quran, but its success is due to the fact that the Prophet Salalahu Alayhe Wasallam was able to capture the hearts of his companions by living the life of a perfect Muslim. It is only after the companions (RA) falling in love with the Prophet Salalahu Alayhe Wasallam, that they were prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice for him. They put their lives and wealth at the disposal of their leader. A perfect example of this is that they risked their lives against impossible odds in the battle field of Badar for him. Once Hazrath Abu Bakar RA gave his entire fortune to the Prophet Salalahu Alayhe Wasallam. When the Prophet Salalahu Alayhe Wasallam asked him what he had left for his family, he replied he had left Allah and his Rassool Salalahu Alayhe Wasallam for them.

Our founder, Hazrath Poona Wale Shah Saib RA always said: “jazbath pada hotha hei ishq hone ke baade” (determination is born after a person falls in love). Thus the Sahabah (RA) derived their strength and conviction for their religion from their love for the Prophet Salalahu Alayhe Wasallam. It is this love that gave them the courage to face certain death for him. It is this love that made them sacrifice their wealth for him. It is this love that made them sacrifice their family.

Loving the Prophet Salalahu Alayhe Wasallam it therefore a fundamental aspect of Islam. It is this love for the Prophet Salalahu Alayhe Wasallam that would make our religion firm in our hearts.

“… so it is those that believe in him (Muhammad Salalahu Alayhe Wasallam), honour him, help him and follow the light that is sent down with him, it is they who will prosper.)” Al Quran Surah al Ashraf 7..157

The Prophet Salalahu Alayhe Wasallam has also said :

“none of you is a true believer until I am more dearer to him than his child and his father and the rest of humanity” Sahih Muslim hadis 71 and Sahih Bukahri vol 1 hadis 13

Growing to love the Prophet Salalahu Alayhe Wasallam does not mean that we worship him. We love him in the context of him been Allah’s messenger and we love him for the sake of Allah. Loving someone you do know is impossible and it is therefore necessary today to grow to love our Pir O Murshids.

Peace and salutations be upon Allah’s Messengers who are responsible for guiding humanity throughout time. Ameen.
