Our Children’s Future is In Our Hands

More and more studies show that we can influence the development our children, even morality, while in the womb. Thus, our Children’s Future is in Our Hands.

More and more studies are proving that we can influence the development of the child to be while it is still in the womb. Thus, our Children’s Future is in Our Hands.

With the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, ever Merciful

The rhythmic process of ejaculation gives life to the otherwise immotile sperm and sets it in motion. It begins to beat its tail. On fertilization this beating motion of the sperm’s tail becomes the heart beat of the child to be born.

Not only does the male provide a part of the biological information that goes to make up the offspring but he also provides the very life beat of the child that would sustain him throughout his life.

The process of procreation is far more complex than even this, most certainly, far more than we can understand. Not only does this little DNA strand carry the blue prints that are required for the physical building of the child, but it also carries information about its mental, emotional and even the moral make up of the child to be.

Most people today concentrate on the physical appearance and mental ability of the child and we provide the pregnant mum with good nutritious food and some even provide for the expectant child’s mental growth by listening to educational material.

Very few, if any, consider catering for the morals of the child to be.

A handsome son with a big brain is all we care about today but little do we realize that a child with good morals and values is worth much more. A child with good morals may not possess worldly goods but he would care for his parents, his community and his relationship with his Creator.

The beauty and brains of our children we would appreciate soon after child birth but the consequences of their morality we would only appreciate or regret many years later or perhaps even after we have passed on.

“The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alayhe Wasallam is reported to have said: no father can give a better gift to his son than good manners” Tirmizi

Just as we can cater for the physical appearance and mental growth of a child before birth, so too can we cater for their moral growth.

Taking care of their moral growth in pregnancy and early childhood is important in giving them a strong foundation towards living a righteous life which would not only give them happiness in the hereafter but it would also make them happy in this world.

How we as parents behave and feel during conception and how we live our lives when it comes to morality, especially the mother during her pregnancy, would give the child to be, moral grounding.

If during conception, parents cover themselves with a sheet then the child to be conceived would be bashful and modest. By the pregnant mother watching degenerate movies then the child to be would be influenced by it.

On the other hand, if she prays and listens to recitations of the Holy Quraan or naaths or if she, instead of idle talk, meditates and contemplates on Allah Subahanatallah, or if she struggles against her baser desires to fortify her conscience, then the fetus would be positively influenced and inclined towards this direction.

What we eat and what we feed our children is important for this would also influence them. There is nothing better than eating halaal food bought from money earned the proper way.

Apart from striving for good children we must want and pray for such children.

“Behold! The wife of Imraan prayed: “O my Lord! I do dedicate to You what is in my womb for Your special services. So accept this of me: for You hear and know all things. “Sura Imraan Al Quraan 3:35.

Allah Subhanatallah fulfills such wholesome prayers as He did fulfill the wish of the wife of Imraan. She gave birth to Bibi Maryam (Allah’s Blessings be upon her) who reached such perfection that Allah Subhanatallah sets her as an example to not just the women but to all who believe. “And Allah sets forth as an example to those who believe the wife of Pherone (Asia)……and Mariam the daughter of Imraan (AS)…” Sura At Tharim 66:11.

Such is her status that even to this day she is held in high esteem by

many.

We all know of the famous Hazrath Gaus Paak (RA) and how his mother instructed him to speak the truth and how he spoke the truth even telling robbers where his money was hidden when he was asked by them.

The mother of Hazrath Baba Farid ud Deen (RA) used to put sugar under the prayer mat to encourage him to pray and when he was older she encouraged him to search for Allah Subhanatallah.

“The Prophet Sallallahu Alayhe Wasallam has said that every child is born pure and true and it is his parents that make him a Jew or a Christian or a Magian…” Sahih Muslim & Bukhari.

We as parents wield a great influence over our children and it is largely up to us as to how they would turn out. If we ourselves lead an Islamic lifestyle and expose them to an Islamic environment and want and pray for them to be good Muslims, then automatically our children would grow up as good Muslims.

As a warning from Allah Subhanatallah: The worst punishment that anyone could undergo is to see their children suffer or to be ill treated by their own children.

“Nor let their wealth nor let their children dazzle you: Allah’s wish is to punish them with these things in the world…” Sura Tauba 9:85

Our founder, Hazrath Poona Wale Shah Saib (RA) showed great concern about our future children and asked us to pay special attention to them. He said that Apartheid would be lifted and because of integration our children could lose their culture. He recommended that we live near mosques so that our children would be in an Islamic environment. END

Peace and Salutations be upon Muhammad Salallahu Alayhe Wasallam.
