Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhe Wasallam’s revolution was a unique revolution like no other. It was not an ordinary revolution to free the weak in society from physical bondage only, but it was a multi directional revolution to free the body, mind and soul of people so that they could soar to highest of human potential. These are some of the basic, most important steps that he strived to put into place.
With the name of Allah, most Beneficient, ever Merciful.
One
He strived to create a loving, harmonious society in which all humanity is equal in the eyes of Allah Subhanatallah, immaterial of color, race, tribe, wealth, or sex. He even taught his followers to respect all other prophets and religions. In their pure form, all religions strive towards the same goal. Although he stressed loving, he still enjoined on his followers to fight tumult & oppression to ensure freedom.
Two.
He warned people to be aware of the greed for wealth. On a personal level, it leads to obsession and being enslaved to accumulating wealth. On a communal level, it results in exploitation. He taught people to fight materialism by giving charity, and sharing with family, friends and neighbours.
Three
He encouraged people to free themselves from being slaves to their passions & desires. He encouraged moderation and self control which develops the soul. When we die a fully developed soul will be the means to our ultimate happiness and freedom.
Four:
People must strive to free their minds from the shackles of superstition, idol worshipping and mere rituals. He stressed thinking, pondering and arousing the inner consciousness. A practicing knowledgeable person has a far greater status in Islam than an ignorant worshipper.
Five:
He taught people to stay away from alcohol, drugs, gambling, adultery, interest etc because these vices are addictive and these habits will enslave us to strive just to gratify these desires which cannot be gratified.
Truly a unique revolution. End
