In the Name of Allah.
When we hear that someone is getting married, we are happy and we celebrate the occasion. Allah SWT and our Holy Prophet Muhammad Salal lahu Alayhe wa salam recommends marriage and they love this for us too. It’s so important that, in Islam, it is half of faith.
Now, if your brother or sister or father tells you that they want to divorce their spouse, how would you feel.
Stop, Take a moment and think about this….
It hurts. Nobody likes it when the word divorce is mentioned, more especially, Allah SWT.
The Holy Prophet Salal lahu Alayhe Wa sallam has said: “The most detestable things of lawful things near Allah is divorce.” Al Hadith, 2:27:20:137
It’s so serious, that the Holy Prophet Salal lahu alayhe wa sallam has said; whichever woman asks her husband for divorce without fault, the fragrance of paradise is unlawful for her.” Al Hadith, 2:27:20:136
And the children… The harm to them is unimaginable.
So, be careful when it comes to divorce, no one likes this. Rather…there is one person that loves this, the devil! He loves to create problems between a husband and wife above all other sins.
That says it all.
There is only one way to ensure that our marriages work. We have to be always searching for that true Islamic way of life and to live it in every minute detail, we have to always first seek out our own faults and put them right, we have to love for others what we love for ourselves.
Men folk, remember giving 3 divorces all at one time is un-Islamic. It has to be given at 3 months intervals and this is so as to ensure that you have ample time to think things through.
Marriage is no light matter, its about faith. We have to give it everything to make it work. Yes, we will have disagreements but we must work through them because this too is a part of building relationships.
Our spiritual guide, in dealing with relationships said: “Fight, fight as much as you want but don’t separate!”
